Review of the Right to Manage

The Government plans to make it easier for tenants groups to take over the management of their homes following consultation.

The revised regs on the Right to Manage will:

  • Remove the requirement that tenants groups must produce a feasibility study before balloting residents
  • Remove the requirement that Local Authorities must send the results of the ballots and copies of the Tenant Management Organisation's agreements to the communities secretary.

The Government has also said it will streamline the guidance that provides practical help for tenants exercising the Right to Manage'.
